Manor Farm
Manor Farm is a traditional mixed farm in Wotton, situated between Dorking and Guildford in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The family run farm extends to approximately 3,000 acres over a distance of 20 miles. We employ four full time staff year round, plus another two or three during harvest time. There can be around 13 people working across the business at any one time and with a host of specialists, contractors and agricultural services this can bring over 50 more to work alongside us.
The Farm Shop
Our Belties have a slower pace of life and spend many months grazing the local chalk downland which results in seasonal Beltie Beef, sold as and when it’s ready!
Manor Farm Beltie beef is Dry-Aged and traditionally matured; hanging on the bone for 3-4 weeks before being prepared by a traditional family butcher. Dry-ageing allows the meat to tenderise and develop in flavour, reflecting the unique herb-rich pasture and terroir of the Surrey Hills on which it was raised.
With the cattle born and bred on the farm and nourished by nature, our beef has provenance and full traceability from our farm to your fork.
When buying Manor Farm Beltie Beef, you become part of our herd’s story; adding unique value to the environment, downland flora and fauna and landscape of the Surrey Hills.
"If I only had one word to describe why we buy Manor Farm Belted Galloway beef, it would be flavour! We only buy beef from Manor Farm as nothing else we have found comes close."
Educational visits
Manor Farm has achieved and important benchmark by being awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge which informs teachers and others organising educational visits that they can be assured of good educational experiences.
We hope to enrich the learning experience of children through their visit to a real working farm, providing the farm and countryside as an outdoor classroom. We are hapy to discuss your requirements to help provide a meaningful farm visit and the raw material for your follow-up work at school.
We host ‘not for profit’ visits from local schools, Sixth Form students, City schools, Academies and Agricultural colleges. For all ages and abilities.
We welcome other visitors from Scouts to Government ministers, the Surrey Hills AONB and Defra.
What do our Belties eat?
Our Belted Galloway cattle, otherwise known as ‘Belties’, graze happily on grass and herbs as well as browsing upon other leafy organic matter such as hedgerows and trees. They are nourished by nature as they roam on local chalk downland and natural pastures. If additional winter fodder is required the cattle eat our home grown hay or haylage.
